Camera Techniques
SLR Single Lens Reflex
- The aperture lets in a little bit of light when it is closed (f32)
- When the aperture is open it lets in a lot of light (f3.5-5)
- A faster shutter speed (1/4000 of a second) only lets in a little bit of light because the shutter opens and closes extremely fast.
- If the camera mode is set as hand held mode you should get a slower shutter speed (1/25 of a second). If you get any more than that you get camera shake because the shutter is open for a longer period of time.
- If the shutter is open for 1 second a lot of light goes in.
Narrow Depth of Field
- If the aperture is open wide it's called a narrow depth of field.
- This usually means that the shutter is open for 1 second which means a lot of light goes into thr aperture.
Large Depth of Field
- If the aperture is smaller it's called a large depth of field.
- This means that less light goes into the aperture which means the photo is taken in focus.
- So there is less light and a faster shutter speed which makes the picture focused.
