Streephabet Prep Work
As part of the streephabet project I had to do some prep work. This meant that I had to take pictures of twelve different letters to explore calligraphy. I have taken twelve pictures of twelve different letters from the alphabet which have been taken from 12 very different locations. The pictures have been taken from places such as a skate park, bus stop lane, ambulance vehicle etc. I have also written an analysis for the first four letters to explain where the picture was taken and why I had chosen the picture.
I took this photograph of the letter 'A' at a skate park in London which was graffitied on the wall. I found this letter very eye catching due to the use large lettering and bold, bright colours. It is also very urban and yothful which shows the modern take on letters.
This photograph of the letter 'B' was taken at the bust stop. This is a very large letter to make the 'BUS' lane notice on the floor more nocticeable.
I found this letter 'D' graffitied on a bin in London. I chose to use this letter becasue it is different to the other letters I have used because some of the paint work has been scratched of letter which makes it look quite messy, informal and very urban. Even though the letter 'a' had also been graffitied it is quite different because that letter was very neat and looked like someone had taken their time to do it where as this letter looks like an extremely rushed job.
This letter was engraved on a memorial stone. This is different to most of the letters I have used for my prep work because the other letters have either been painted on or printed on.
